Chateau Hochberg by Lalique

The Context

Formerly the site of the Hochberg glassworks, the property now houses Château Hochberg, a refined retreat set within peaceful, tree-lined parkland. Built in 1863 from local sandstone, the château was carefully restored and reopened as a four-star hotel in 2016. Its fifteen rooms and suites offer understated comfort and quiet elegance. The building is also listed as a protected historical monument.

The Bar

The playlist for the Bar reflects René Lalique’s spirit of travel and fascination with nature. Music flows between refined jazz, cinematic instrumentals, and global influences, mirroring the light play of the suspended crystals and the garden glimpsed through the French windows. Subtle recordings of early morning ambient sounds from the surrounding landscape are artfully woven into the music, adding a luminous, organic dimension that blurs the line between interior and exterior.

The Restaurant

A single, seamless playlist flows through the three dining rooms—Dahlia, Ombelle, and Venise—enhancing their convivial, welcoming atmosphere. Subtle birdsong recorded at dawn adds a natural presence, in harmony with the garden views and the refined Lalique décor, including the Eternal Crystal panels designed by Damien Hirst.
